According to a late July Reuters/Zogby poll, 44.5% of Americans believe music downloaded off the Internet should be free to everyone, while 34.3% believe people should pay a small price and 21.2% aren’t sure. In other words, no one in America is in favor of the record industry’s current price-gouging. If we actually lived in a democracy, the problem would already be solved.
